What this page teaches
Settings are behavior, not just values.
Pi settings decide how models, tools, context, display, privacy, sessions, and extensions behave. We will make that visible by testing them in small, reversible steps.
Then watch the effect
For each setting, record the baseline, change one value, observe the result, and write down what changed.
Keep it intentional
Restore the starting value unless you consciously decide the new behavior helps your real work.
Lesson 1
Where Pi settings live.
This is the first place we will work when the lesson content is added: global settings, project settings, and how Pi merges them.
Find the layers
Identify global configuration, the current project configuration, and the Settings interface.
Make a safe override
Use a project-level setting first, so you can see precedence without changing every Pi project.
Verify and log
Confirm the result in Pi, then keep or roll back the value before moving forward.
